Founder

Dr Tiffany Chen is the founder of The Cusp Collective and a periodontist-in-training at Griffith University. Alongside the demands of full-time study with a toddler, she also teaches in undergraduate clinics, supporting the next generation of dentists.

After graduating from Dental School, she remained along the coast of South East QLD and Northern NSW. During this time, Tiffany arranged her life and finances to explore everywhere from Antarctica to the Arctic Circle, including a lap around Australia. She has since returned to the Gold Coast where she now lives with her husband, toddler, and array of animals.

As a lifelong learner, Tiffany always returns to ‘mindfulness’ and ‘connection’ when navigating challenges. The insights gained throughout her life and career has compelled her to advocate for gender parity, leading to the establishment of The Cusp Collective as a way to empower women in dentistry.

Our Ethos

  • Inspire

    An insatiable curiosity and the desire to continuously learn and grow underpins the raison d’être of The Cusp Collective. In a world of endless stimulation and demands on us, it can be easy to lose sight of what is important and become drained of inspiration.

    As we bear witness to the journey of others, we can share in their triumphs and learn from the hurdles. The enthusiasm and sense of purpose that accompanies us home after enriching encounters is a thrilling energy that we can’t get enough of. We hope to share with you a renewed love for the dental world and beyond.

  • Connect

    We are wired to connect. Research shows that social connectedness can lead to longer life, better health, and improved well-being. While it may appear that we are more ‘connected’ now than ever, through the multitude of social media platforms, loneliness is on the rise.

    It takes time and intentional effort to truly connect with others and feel the sense of belonging that comes with being a part of something bigger. There is nothing as cathartic as being seen and heard by someone with a similar experience. It’s about all the subtleties and nuances that are not easily described. We can’t wait to connect with you.

  • Sustain

    The Cusp Collective is all about feeding the mind, body, and soul. How can we maintain a sustainable career and a fulfilling life? How do we positively impact the environment we find ourselves in?

    Dentistry can be an emotionally, mentally, and physically taxing profession. It also involves an incredible amount of waste, some of which is necessary, others not. Let’s keep building each other up as we continuously strive to be gentler on ourselves, the environment, and others.
